Monday: Last Monday at The Movies: Wild Rose
The month would not be complete without a film at Massey Theatre on the last Monday of the month! This month, catch Wild Rose, a must-see film set in Glasgow, Scotland, about a young woman leaving prison who dreams of becoming a famous country-singer. This feel-good movie about hope will have you leaving the theatre with a smile on your face. It’s the perfect Monday evening activity! Tuesday: Pasta Night at Gino’s

Tuesdays aren’t the only days reserved for eating! On Wednesday May 29th, join at El Santo, for the Comunidad Chef’s Table Dinner! It will be an evening filled with delicious food, yummy beverages and great company! In this dinner, executive chef Samuel Fabbro will explore foods that encompass the idea of community. Tickets are $45, and you will get one welcome beverage and a six course dinner. Spots are limited! Thursday: The New West Summer Farmers Market
The New West Summers Farmer’s Market is back! Every Thursday, join in at Tipperary Park from 3-7pm for a myriad of fresh produce, tasty treats, and artisan goods from your favourite vendors! What a wonderful way to end a Thursday: walking around the market with the sunshine on your shoulders. Check out the Market’s website for upcoming news and events.
Friday: Screening of Rocketman at Landmark Cinemas
Movie-going is such a great weekend activity! If you’re anything like us, you have been highly anticipating the release of the new Elton John flick, Rocketman! In honour of the opening weekend, Landmark Cinemas 10 in New Westminster will be hosting trivia games, karaoke, contests, games and more! What a fun way to celebrate an exciting movie; not to mention the career of music hero, Elton John. This event will run from 12pm-8pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday: The Grand Parade
This Saturday, get some exercise for a great cause at the Grand Parade! This 2k or 5k walk will raise money for Seniors Services Society of BC, a local non-profit that provides housing navigation and assistance to seniors who are homeless and at-risk for homelessness. This wonderful walk will commence at River Market at 10:00am, come on out to support aging Canadians and their families!
Sunday: 100 Braid St Studios Grand Re-Opening – Fusion Arts Day
If you’ve read our blog before, you know we are big fans of 100 Braid Street Studios! They host the best shows, paint and sip nights and more! On Sunday, join in for their 5 year anniversary and grand reopening! This event will be happening all weekend, but Sunday is Fusion Arts Day! There will be visual arts, performing arts, live music and a whole lot of fun! This event begins at noon and runs until 10pm! Come on out and support your local art studio!
