Monday: Last Monday at the Movies

Is there anything better than curling up to a great flick?! It’s time for another movie at Massey Theatre, as part of their “Last Monday at the Movies” event series! This time, the feature film will be I Am Not Your Negro, directed by Raoul Peck. You may be familiar with three powerful names in African American history: Medgar Evers, Malcolm X, and Martin Luther King Junior. In 1979, a close friend of theirs, James Baldwin, set out to write a personal account of their deaths, to be titled “Remember This House.” Unfortunately, the work was never completed. In this powerful film, Peck envisions the story that Baldwin never finished and how it would be told. You will not want to miss this moving and powerful film. Tickets for this event can be purchased here.

Tuesday: Happy Hour at El Santo

El Santo, located on Columbian Street, has a happy hour deal each day of the week, but how can you beat Tuesday’s, where Margaritas are on special for just $7?! Tuesday’s aren’t just for icy, delicious margarita’s, either! Try their “taco of day” happy hour specials, or any of their other discounted appies! A Tuesday evening spent indulging in Mexican food is a Tuesday well spent in our books! Check out El Santo’s instagram for a gallery of their yummy offerings.
